Mechanical and Electrical Site Supervisor - Cork 2 year FTC
Cairn has a unique and exciting opportunity for a high calibre M&E Site Supervisor to work with and support Cairn's Construction Team. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will assist in the management of the Mechanical and Electrical services design and installation on our high-density residential projects.
The successful person will be an experienced, motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities:
Typically, the candidate will be expected to undertake and assist with the following duties:
- Continuous monitoring and follow up to the point of resolution, the quality of installation for M&E systems over various residential projects, during the various stages of the build process.
- Implementation and further development of M&E quality systems being incorporated, including online management portal.
- Supervision of M&E sub-contractors onsite in conjunction with the site teams, ensuring quality expectations are achieved and in keeping with programme.
- Support the site construction management teams in the management of on-site M&E installations and assist with onsite problem solving if and when they arise.
- Active coordination and management of project design teams as required.
- Inspection and recording of sub-contractor’s quality documentation, and carrying out quality audits across several live projects.
- Supplement the company’s innovation process in consideration and implementation of best-in-class mechanical & electrical systems, products and installation processes.
- Support internal after care function with troubleshooting and escalating when appropriate any M&E related items and implementing lessons learned.
- Anticipate the requirement for modification of existing site services and manage mains service diversions in conjunction with the Utility Providers and site teams.
- Provide support to sites in relation to Public Utility providers and local authorities to ensure timely delivery of electricity, gas, water and telecommunications services to new developments.
The candidate – key requirements;
- M&E related background desirable with appropriate certification.
- Further education in M&E Engineering a plus but not essential.
- 5+ years post qualification experience in similar role.
- A desire to continuously improve installation quality and procedures.
- Experience in PM software platforms.
- Team player, organised, self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative.
- Strong relationship builder and communicator.
- Focus on deadlines and commitment to programme delivery.
- Willingness to travel between sites and a full driving licence.
