The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for our IT Operations department, based in our Dublin city centre HQ. We are predominantly cloud based (Azure) and support a significant user base over multiple locations throughout Ireland. The role will be based onsite at our Dublin city centre HQ.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert in the area of system administration for cloud and on-site hardware and software systems, particular focus on Microsoft and SaaS solutions.
  • Is responsible for the installation and configuration of new software and hardware, including servers, network devices and firewalls.
  • Is responsible for monitoring and responding to system performance, IT system operations and storage/network utilisation alerts.
  • Plans ahead for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support system growth.
  • Providing escalation technical support to the IT Service Desk where required
  • Mentors team members and educates users.
  • Helps communicate and enforce information technology policy.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure (required)
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • Microsoft Intune (required)
  • Office365
  • Exchange Online
  • SharePoint Online
  • Networking (WiFi, VLANs, Firewalls)
  • Citrix XenApp Essentials / Axure Virtual Desktop
  • Experience in an ITIL environment
  • Experience in Azure monitoring, App Insights, LogAnalytics, Grafana etc.
  • Previous experience with Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • Powershell Scripting

The Candidate

  • 5 years of experience working in the information technology sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information science, information systems or related field.
  • Experience delivering IT Ops projects as part of project rollout. 
  • Experience with troubleshooting and issue resolution principles, methodologies and techniques with a strong desire to learn about new technologies.
  • This position also requires problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, strong organisation skills, and initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with users of all levels and explain complex technical information into simple and understandable terms
