Research Manager 

The Research Manager will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive business growth. They will monitor and analyse all internal driven research and support with the implementation of new methods for collating and analysing research, to include external research.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Corporate Finance / Director of Strategic Delivery & Policy and will have responsibility for managing Cairn’s macroeconomic and public affairs research function in conjunction with all internal business units.

Key Responsibilities; 

  • Support in managing content for CEO and CFO meetings, including incorporating relevant research as required.
  • Assist in collating research, presentations and board presentations for members of the Cairn Leadership Team as required.
  • Monitor and report on external research relating to the Irish housing and mortgage markets, and all relevant macroeconomic trends and any other pertinent external research as it impacts our business.
  • Oversee the preparation of research materials for external communications, including interim and annual results, website development, and fact sheets.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on industry trends and market data with a strong emphasis of collating  competitor information and analysis.
  • Support the cross functional internal research framework by monitoring and analysing all internal driven research and devising and implementing new methods for collating research.
  • Stay updated on industry news, emerging trends and best practices in research analysis.
  • Other relevant and ad hoc projects as required.

The Candidate: 

  • Relevant third level qualification in Finance, Economics or Business Administration.
  • Construction experience not required but sector knowledge advantageous.
  • Confidence engaging with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve excellent results.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentational skills.
  • Maintains a strong attention to detail and accuracy when working within tight timeframes.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Experience in use of Python, R or other programming languages.
