Cairn has a unique opportunity for a high calibre Civils Project Manager. This role will support the business with utility project management, specifically Uisce Eireann, across the Cairn portfolio. Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with high energy individuals, partnering with our site teams and key stakeholders to support our successful scaling through excellence in execution.  Join our growing team and progress your career with Cairn Homes.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Typically, the candidate will be expected to undertake and assist with the following duties:

 

Relationship Management

  • Be the primary point of contact between Cairn and Uisce Éireann to ensure timely action and resolution of issues that occur.
  • Provide guidance across the business directing any actions required by Uisce Eireann.
  • Ownership and management of third-party stakeholders, assisting the site team progress on site works, specifically surrounding Uisce Éireann.
  • Build successful relationships with 3rd party utility providers, including Uisce Éireann
  • Local Authorities.
  • Work with the third-party stakeholders from planning through to handover stage to assist the Company successfully deliver our products with minimal roadblocks.
  • Provide support to site teams to successfully manage relationships and utility connections. This will involve selecting a person from each project to be the day to day contact with the Uisce Éireann field engineer and supporting them in this role.
  • Regular reporting on the progress of works to the Business Unit Lead.
  • Relationship management with civil engineering contractors across the business and oversight on output capabilities of all contractors.
  • Implement a standard approach to Uisce Éireann design drawings with our consultant engineers from planning stage.

Civils Quality Control:

  • Develop and lead the quality control process for all civils work. Improve our current QA system for groundworks packages and develop and improve our procedure for our civils handover packs to Uisce Éireann and Local Authorities.
  • Provide guidance to our site Engineering teams on Uisce Éireann details and set high standards for our installation and sign offs across our projects.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the Design Teams ensuring common details are used across all projects.
  • Regular reporting on the progress of works to the Business Unit Lead.
  • Relationship management with civil engineering contractors across the business and oversight on their QA procedures
  • Share lessons learned across the business, improvements of company taking in charge and handover process to be implemented
  • Standardisation of As-built drawings from our sub contractors to meet Uisce Éireann QA standards
  • Provide clear direction on Uisce Éireann/Local Authority wayleave agreement drawings for each scheme

 

The Candidate:

  • Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent; 7+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience across a broad range of civil engineering ideally with experience working on large residential or commercial type projects.
  • Experience on water main and foul water installation to Uisce Éireann standards
  • Experience on surface water installation to local authority standards
  • Experience with the taking in charge process with Uisce Éireann and local authorities
  • Excellent working knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standards
  • Excellent track record of driving high performing teams
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of implementing a new procedures or policy to a project or company.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • Methodical, excellent attention to detail and accurate
  • Good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
  • An ability to co-ordinate a number of different priorities at the same time.
  • Willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks.
